About Me

Ian D. Larke, MSc, RPsych (he/him) is a Registered Psychologist in Calgary who has been in clinical practice since 2005. Known for his friendly and gentle approach, Ian works successfully with people of all ages and is passionate about helping clients better understand their learning profiles.

“I love what I do and every day I'm excited about assisting others to reach their personal and academic goals! I endeavour to provide assessment services in a compassionate and timely way and to make a positive difference in people’s lives.”

Ian graduated with his Masters of Science in Applied Psychology from the University of Calgary in 2005 where he specialized in psychoeducational and psychological assessment. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Winnipeg and Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Education at the University of Manitoba. He has worked in both private practice and public school settings and has supervised interns as a Clinical Adjunct Instructor at the University of Calgary. His assessments help clarify diagnoses and guide treatment planning, academic accommodations, and learning supports from preschool through post-secondary.

Ian has extensive experience assessing learning disabilities (e.g., dyslexia), ADHD, intellectual giftedness, developmental disabilities, and mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression. He is knowledgeable about Alberta Education’s special education coding criteria, assistive technology, and Individual Program Plans (IPPs), and regularly provides recommendations tailored to each client’s learning profile.

Outside of work, Ian enjoys painting, learning piano, photography, plants, coffee, and mid-century modern design. He is currently training his chiweenie, Benjamin (Benj), to become an assisted therapy dog. 🤎

If you are seeking a psychoeducational or psychological assessment, please feel free to contact Ian to discuss your needs.
