Land Acknowledgment

In the spirit of reconciliation, Ian D. Larke respectfully acknowledges that we live, work, and gather on the traditional lands of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta. This includes the territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy, comprising the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai First Nations, as well as the Tsuut’ina First Nation and the Stoney Nakoda Nations, including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney First Nations. The City of Calgary is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Districts 5 and 6.

We honour the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples whose presence and stewardship have shaped these lands for generations. We express our gratitude to the Knowledge Keepers and Elders who continue to share their wisdom, and we remember those who have come before. This acknowledgement is offered as an act of respect, gratitude, and ongoing commitment to reconciliation with the peoples whose lands we reside on or visit.
